...In Canada, the overall rate of police-reported violence against seniors increased by 20% between 1998 and 2005
(Statistics Canada, 2007).


Harm caused to a senior by a person in a position of authority or trust is becoming all too common. The abuser could be a spouse, other family member, professional, neighbour, friend or stranger. Whatever your group, you will benefit from a presentation from the police about this difficult issue.
This presentation talks about the driver's licence renewal process for seniors who are aged 80 and over. It walks seniors through the driver re-testing process and prepares them for what to expect once they turn 80. Presented by the Ministry of Transportation.

The 2025 Safe Senior Calendar


Funding for the 2024 calendar has been generously provided by CAA. This year we will be distributing single calendars, and not mailing calendars. Calendars will be available from all BASSIC member organizations.

Calendars will be available after December 1, 2023 at the following locations:

  • Through local police and fire stations in Toronto and York Region​
  • ​Through one of the members or associates. More inf​​

Bulk Order Calendars?
